About College of Nursing

image The College of Nursing at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (Dr. RMLIMS), Lucknow, is dedicated to preparing competent, compassionate, and practice-ready nursing professionals for the evolving healthcare system.

The School of Nursing was established in 2015 as a department of Dr. RMLIMS, reflecting the far-sighted vision of the Government of Uttar Pradesh to strengthen the nursing workforce within a super-specialty healthcare setting. From its inception, it was envisioned that such an institution would train skilled nurses capable of delivering high-quality care not only within the state but across the country.

Between 2015 and 2018, 40 students were successfully trained under the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) program. Recognizing the growing need for professionally qualified nurses and the increasing complexity of healthcare delivery, the School of Nursing was upgraded to the College of Nursing in 2019, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath.

The college aspires to expand its academic and research activities, with a focus on high-impact research and evidence-based practice. It aims to contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge and its effective application in patient care, ultimately promoting safer, healthier communities at both national and global levels.
